[opensuse] opensuse network fails on reboot
I have configured wicked to control my wired and wireless devices. The wireless start mode, read from ifcfg-wlp11s0, is auto which according to the man page means start on boot. When I did a reboot I was forced to execute in ifdown and ifup before it was connected. Output from ifconfig before the restart is: wlp11s0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr C0:38:96:60:41:79 inet6 addr: fe80::c238:96ff:fe60:4179/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:193 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:22 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:43333 (42.3 Kb) TX bytes:5137 (5.0 Kb) After: wlp11s0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr C0:38:96:60:41:79 inet addr:192.168.7.55 Bcast:192.168.7.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 inet6 addr: fda6:1c9c:a527:0:3cf0:aa95:5ade:8651/64 Scope:Global inet6 addr: fda6:1c9c:a527:0:c238:96ff:fe60:4179/64 Scope:Global inet6 addr: 2601:5:a100:7c:c238:96ff:fe60:4179/64 Scope:Global inet6 addr: fe80::c238:96ff:fe60:4179/64 Scope:Link inet6 addr: 2601:5:a100:7c:3cf0:aa95:5ade:8651/64 Scope:Global UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:523 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:178 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:113615 (110.9 Kb) TX bytes:35095 (34.2 Kb) The state of my other interface is setup-in-progress, waiting for a cable to be plugged in. The wireless interface was listed as up by ifstatus: wlp11s0 up link: #3, state up, mtu 1500 type: wireless config: compat:/etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-wlp11s0 it just would not do anything. After the cycle the output is: wlp11s0 up link: #3, state up, mtu 1500 type: wireless config: compat:/etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-wlp11s0 leases: ipv4 static granted addr: ipv4 192.168.7.55/24 [static] addr: ipv6 fda6:1c9c:a527:0:c238:96ff:fe60:4179/64 addr: ipv6 2601:5:a100:7c:c238:96ff:fe60:4179/64 addr: ipv6 2601:5:a100:7c:3cf0:aa95:5ade:8651/64 addr: ipv6 fda6:1c9c:a527:0:3cf0:aa95:5ade:8651/64 route: ipv4 default via 192.168.7.1 Any ideas on why it does not come up correctly from boot? Any other inputs I can offer? Thanks, Don -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
