Apparently, the fix is simple, run X server with 100 dpi (by default, X server is started with 75 dpi). Now all ttf are displayed properly, in browser, in OpenOffice.org.
How does one do that? Regards, Sylvanus A. In the file "/etc/X11/xdm/Xservers" change : :0 local /usr/X11R6/bin/X :0 vt07 to :0 local /usr/X11R6/bin/X -dpi 100 :0 vt07 Regards, Josef

Hi, Add -dpi 100 to file /etc/X11/xdm/Xservers, so the file will contain: :0 local /usr/X11R6/bin/X :0 vt07 -dpi 100 Next, open the file /etc/X11/XF86Config. Here there're lines start with "FontPath". What to do is to reverse some paths so that path to 100 dpi font occur before path to 75 dpi. For example, originally: ... FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi:unscaled" FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi:unscaled" ... FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/latin2/75dpi:unscaled" FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/latin2/100dpi:unscaled" ... FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/ucs/75dpi:unscaled" FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/ucs/100dpi:unscaled" ... FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/hellas/75dpi:unscaled" FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/hellas/100dpi:unscaled" to: ... FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi:unscaled" FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi:unscaled" ... FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/latin2/100dpi:unscaled" FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/latin2/75dpi:unscaled" ... FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/ucs/100dpi:unscaled" FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/ucs/75dpi:unscaled" ... FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/hellas/100dpi:unscaled" FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/hellas/75dpi:unscaled" Then restart X server. Regards, Verdi
