Hi! Im a newbie and have problem with that I marked that I didnt want X11 running when I sat up the monitor so now Im in promptmode all the time. Can someone help me how to get back to X11-mode from the prompt? BTW can someone tell me how I get the screen to fit in properly in 1024*768 mode? I use the right monitorsettings but it always get to big or to small for my screen. Thanks Thomas K Sweden

Try # startx at the command prompt. I hope you then have an X server. When X is started, use the SuSE help system to find what you seek. Probably you can set up what you need with YaST2. JDL

In a root console type "xvidtune" (without the quotes, of course). That program allows some adjustment to the screen's width and height. Bonus: that shows you what each set of numbers in the modeline means. -- Regards, gr, in /usually/ sunny, balmy Florida's Suncoast.
