[opensuse] How to turn on 3D effect on KDE?
Hello community, I haven't seen anyone run the 3D desktop on KDE, so I am interesting for it.Could anyone told me that how can I run 3D effect on KDE desktop on opensuse 10.3? I can run 3D on Gnome on my computer, and I tried many ways to make it on KDE, but I failed. Thank you! My screen becomes black every time, when I run Xgl in the terminal. My VGA hardware is Intel 915 GM, 3D effect can run smoothly under Gnome in my PC. But as for KDE, there's a different situation. Why? Bye the way, I can play a 3D game which named "Briquolo" and installed with compiz. I haven't installed Gnome in my system. In http://en.opensuse.org/Xgl_Troubleshooting, it said that : *There is no KDE-specific way to configure compiz; you must use the compiz "gconf" plugin, along with the GNOME-based "Desktop Effects" tool and/or gconf-editor. Is it the reason? Thank you all the same, Ciao;p -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Do not Run Xgl, run "compiz-manager --replace&" as normal user, use simple-ccsm to enable compiz or change session manager to compiz as mentioned in the link above. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Everything looks like well, but there's no 3D effect appeared. In the "Desktop Effect" item, 3D option can not be used. Maybe something isn't compatible with my system or hardware, I
