Hello suse users: First of all I apologize since this is not a SUSE specific but rather a non-specific linux question. It is related to skype configuration: How can I set different outputs for the ringer and the voice? Usually I use a headphone for listening music and for skype conversations. But I would skype to notify me even if am not right at the computer. Changing the heaphone's and the loudspeaker's wire every time when I leave and sit to the computer would be very unconvenient. Thanks, IG ________________________________________________________________________________ Új építésű ingatlanok széles választéka, független hitel szaktanácsadással is. You'll have to talk to the skype team about all you can do on that front is change the dsp it uses but it is not able to do /dev/dsp for ring and /dev/dsp1 for speach .. not a nice idea really Pete . -- The Labour party has changed their emblem from a rose to a condom as it more accurately reflects the government's political stance. A condom allows for inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of pricks, and gives you a sense of security while you are actually being fucked. from GSM

The easiest way would be to build or buy an audio switch. Since you are in Hungary, I don't know what resources are available to you. In Germany, it would be easy to find one. In the US, Radio Shack sells one for $9.97, altho they say it's out of stock at present. I do something similar with a printer, to select between my XP and my Linux machine. Put large labels on it, so you remember what connects to what. --doug -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. I just drilled a 1/4" hole in the top of the speaker that plugs into my PC and installed a headphone jack there. Plug in the headphones, the speakers go silent. Unplug them to move about the room, listening to music/news as well for Skype calls. Hint: use *rosin* core solder not acid core ;-) Carl

Get your nuts fried for that these days almost as bad a 60/40 Lead/Tin solder ...
