having used dvdbackup to copy a dvd onto my hard drive is it possible to copy it onto a dvd using a dvd writer? if so what do I use?

The one time I did that, I used k3b New DVD Project pointed at ~/VIDEO_TS/, that was before I knew k3b was capable of copying DVD's. Regards Sid. --
when I tried that K3b complained of not being able to copy encrypted DVD's, dvdbackup did at least back it up to the hard drive but I don't see much point if I can't get it back of again - unless I just want to watch dvd's on my computer of course. Phil
I had no trouble, but I had libdvdcss2-1.2.8 installed then, since upgraded to 1.2.9, both built from sources, but I believe you can use the one on packman.links2linux.org/ which handles encrypted DVD's. Regards Sid. I'm using packman K3b k3b-mad-0.12.3-3.pm.0 k3b-0.12.3-3.pm.0 and also have the following installed

In that case, you should be able to play the DVD using kaffeine or another app. I shall have to try again later when I have a DVD I'd like to copy, but after using dvdbackup, I was able to get k3b to make a dvd using the ~/VIDEO_TS/ directory generated. As it was a standard DVD, it would have been encrypted. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ...
