[SLE] updating to 6.4
Hi all I'm going to upgrade from 6.2 -> 6.4 And I would like to know which might occure when doing this? I have a working sendmailconfiguration and a working dial-up connection, is this going to be overwritten ?? Any experiences would be appreciated!! -- /niller

A good idea :)

To be on the safe side, you should backup /etc to a safe place. But these files should not be overwritten during the update. Actually they are saved as xyz.rpmnew in may case 6.3 -> 6.4 upgrade under the /etc directory files. Maybe this is just my system but as Lenz suggests making a back up of /etc should not hurt -- Togan Muftuoglu toganm@turk.net -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
I wouldn't bother upgrading if you are using either sendfax or susefax. Those are both broken in 6.4 and haven't been fixed as far as I know. Hylafax wasn't working but I think SuSE released some patches for libtiff and hylafax which fixed it. Gerry On Tue, 13 Jun 2000, Togan Muftuoglu wrote:
