[opensuse] mythtv frontend where do I enable logging?
On my TV setup, I use auto-login which takes me straight to the mythfrontend UI. I would like to enable logging (apparently by calling mythfrontend with --service) to diagnose some problems with playing DVDs, but I don't know where mythfrontend is actually called from? -- Per Jessen, Zürich (2.0°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - free DNS hosting, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
Hi, I think I just saw something about mythTV in the gnome-tweak-tool. I broke my installation recently so I can't check, and I seem to remember that I have noticed that you have KDE. Maybe thats a lead anyway though. -e

Well, I run mythfrontend straight from login. No window manager. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (2.1°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - free DNS hosting, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
Hey, sorry for the misinformation, It is not in the gnome-tweak-tool, I did see something that looked fairly comprehensive when googling "mythtv kde" though. http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Frontend_Auto_Login I think I saw it in YAST somewhere but I don't see it now. Hope that helps , -e On Mon, 2013-01-28 at 19:03 +0100, Per Jessen wrote:

Well, I still haven't found where to add e.g. "--logpath" to the mythfrontend startup. I thought it might be in /usr/share/xsessions/mythtv.desktop, but I tried amending "Exec=/usr/bin/mythfrontend", no change. Instead I found the console output in ~/.xession-errors which will have to suffice for now. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (4.8°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - free DNS hosting, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
