[opensuse] problem in ssh? -- thinks I'm roaming ??
I have a problem every now and then with ssh not accepting my public key: It is NOT a permissions problem. debug3: load_hostkeys: loading entries for host "ishtar" from file "/home/law/.ssh/known_hosts" debug3: load_hostkeys: found key type RSA in file /home/law/.ssh/known_hosts:1 debug3: load_hostkeys: loaded 1 keys debug3: load_hostkeys: loading entries for host "192.168.4.1" from file "/home/law/.ssh/known_hosts" debug3: load_hostkeys: found key type RSA in file /home/law/.ssh/known_hosts:6 debug3: load_hostkeys: loaded 1 keys debug1: Host 'ishtar' is known and matches the RSA host key. debug1: Found key in /home/law/.ssh/known_hosts:1 debug1: ssh_rsa_verify: signature correct debug2: kex_derive_keys debug2: set_newkeys: mode 1 debug1: SSH2_MSG_NEWKEYS sent debug1: expecting SSH2_MSG_NEWKEYS debug2: set_newkeys: mode 0 debug1: SSH2_MSG_NEWKEYS received ---- ^^^ see, it got the key, but what is this: Roaming ?!? debug1: Roaming not allowed by server debug1: SSH2_MSG_SERVICE_REQUEST sent debug2: service_accept: ssh-userauth debug1: SSH2_MSG_SERVICE_ACCEPT received debug2: key: /home/law/.ssh/id_rsa (0x80049df0) debug2: key: /home/law/.ssh/id_athena_rsa (0x0) debug1: Authentications that can continue: publickey,password,keyboard-interactive debug3: start over, passed a different list publickey,password,keyboard-interactive --- W/password: I get logged in: Ishtar:/> who am i law pts/9 2013-01-29 14:10 (athenae) Ishtar:/> ping athenae PING Athenae (192.168.4.12) 56(84) bytes of data. 64 bytes from Athenae (192.168.4.12): icmp_seq=1 ttl=32 time=0.099 ms What's this roaming? Why does it think I am roaming, and how do I tell it to allow it? Note -- AT times, this machine has multiple/redundant connetions with different addresses on the same subnet (right now it doesn't but it does have 2 connections in a bond0 configuration). Note -- this was working until I last rebooted my linux machine - now I get this... Haven't seen any good answer for what causes this -- some have referred to permissions, but the debug says that isn't the problem. I have a *fixed* ip, so I'm pretty sure I'm not roaming, though recently I had to fall back to my alternate set of ethernet cards on 192.168._3_.X instead of my current 192.168._4_.X (4 is the bonded connection and it didn't come up last reboot -- the slave ethernet ports got renamed), so I was using the non-bond network...the _3_ network. But if anything, the _3_ network was a temporary outlier -- (that should work, BTW). Linda Walsh wrote: roaming -- problem was host resolution order and some address duplication in my sshd that caused confusion because one of the addrs wasn't up when the system came up and thus windows was always trying to login to 192.168.3.1, trying to get to 192.168.4.1. Fixing a host resolution order in sshd solved the problem (for now...might very well be random). -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
