I've noticed with a few messages in this list, that the reply will arrive before the question. Would those posting replies, please wait until after the question has been posted! ;-)

At last you have sent your question. If you had not sent it just now I would have been left with the dilemma as to whether to post this reply and go to bed, or to wait up for your question. On the whole, if you consider that I need to go to bed, you must agree that the Original Poster has a duty to get his question out before people have composed their answers. Otherwise people will realise that stochastic aspects of the universe are merely a simulation in a deterministic environment.

Sorry James It appears that I jumped the gun. KMail shows that I answered you a minute too soon. To answer your next question, it was malice really. Vince

Must be the few people that still have a working crystal ball. Ken

I LOVE it! Now why haven't you answered my question? I will certainly post it in the next few days. --doug

The problem is that you are using a threaded mail reader. One of the main problems with threaded applications is the so-called race condition. The proposed solution is that posters of questions raise a semaphore when they post, so the question is required to wait until the semaphore is dropped. It is also required that posters of answers refrain from asking a question as a part of their post, this would lead to a race condition

What I have found that solves this about99.9% is sorting the Inbox messages by thread.

My question is: How can i reply to something if I don't their question yet yet? Unless you are replying to your own question that is.

It's only the way they show up in your email reader. Perhaps there is some sort of delay from some of the posters to you. Also can be the date/time not set correctly on some of the posters PC's. Ken

Those that answer before the message is sent are psychic that's all. *<[:oD -- (o:]>*HUGGLES*<[:o) Billie Walsh The three best words in the English Language: "I LOVE YOU" Pass them on
