My main drive is NTSF and I can't partition it because w2k is already loaded and I don't want to format and start over since it's my work computer. My next option is to install Suse on a second hard drive and dual boot. My question is: 1) Am I correct to assume that I can install Linux on a second (or D:) drive? 2) How can I dual boot? Will installation place the lilo on my primary drive or do I have to use a boot disk? 3) Won't a boot disk slow down the linux system? Thanks to all for the help. I am running SuSE 7.3 pro from the 3rd hard drive on a Promise 100 controller card.

I triple boot, have MD7.1 & MD8.0 on another drive. I prefer floppy disk for lilo.

Yes, it you choose that option
or do I have to use a boot disk? Like many others, I installed LILO on /boot and gave NTLDR its own copy of LILO.
3) Won't a boot disk slow down the linux system? not after you get it started
