You need to edit ld.so.conf.in, THEN run SuSEconfig. Once you've edited ld.so.conf, SuSEconfig won't touch it, it's up to you after that. Use ld.so.conf.in, that is the correct way to make library additions. Miguel Afonso Oliveira wrote:
