Konqueror looks at /opt/mozilla/plugins (which I downloaded when Moz asked for it the first time) for the java plugin and works fine. Moz gives me: 'This page contains information of a type (application/x-java-vm) that can only be viewed with the appropriate Plug-in. Click OK to download Plugin.' What's happening? SuSE 8.1 Thanks, Steve.
It means that the site your looking at doesn't detect that you have the plugin that it needs. In this case it's java. As long as Konq is looking in the correct Java directory it should work. Some sites tell me I have no flash plugin and other such crap when I know I do and that it works. It's poor site coding. * fsanta (fsanta@arrakis.es) [030120 10:40]: ::Konqueror looks at /opt/mozilla/plugins (which I downloaded when Moz asked for ::it the first time) for the java plugin and works fine. the easiest thing to do is to create a soft link in your $HOME/.mozilla/plugin/ for libjavaplugin_oji.so found somewhere in your java directory (for me it's /usr/lib/java/jre/plugin/i386/ns610/). -- Xiaolei

What version of konqueror and what version of mozilla are you using? I
think you're seeing the old problem with gcc 3.2. Since java is compiled
with an older gcc it doesn't work in a mozilla compiled with 3.2, which
the one in SuSE 8.1 is.

Konqueror 3.0.3 Mozilla 1.0.1 Build ID: 2002091116-SuSE (The ones supplied on the 8.1 CD's) Do I need a newer Moz? Steve.

You need one compiled with gcc 2.95.3. I would suggest 1.2.1 as supplied
by mozilla.org. Those versions have always worked best for me anyway.

You can use Java compiled with 2.95.x and Konqueror compiled with 3.2 just fine. I do it at work daily. The problem is that Konq is either not finding the java directory or that the site has a poorly written piece of JAVA. -- Ben Rosenberg ---===---===---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org Tell me what you believe.. So fsanta's problem was with mozilla, while his konqi "works fine"

On the 'server': Mount the cd Export it On the 'client' Go to YaST -> Installation source Delete 'cd' from list 'add new' choose nfs enter ip & directory of 'server' should work The problem is that the 'list' of source media can only contain *one* item at a time... (Which IMHO disqualifies it as being a 'list' ;) HTH Jon Clausen BTW; Please start a new thread for a new topic. There are a lot of reasons why, but some highlights could be: It's easy. It increases your chance of getting meaningful answers. People, who use threading mail clients, might miss your question otherwise. Some even get unhappy and might start ignoring you/start flamewars and start yelling about RFCs and whatnot...

Anyway here is 1.2.1: /usr/local/mozilla/mozilla LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library /usr/lib/SunJava2-1.3.1/jre/plugin/i386/ns600/libjavaplugin_oji.so [/usr/lib/SunJava2-1.3.1/jre/plugin/i386/ns600/libjavaplugin_oji.so: file too short] Any ideas anyone? Thanks, Steve.
