The groups working together to launch and sponsor this effort include DM Solutions Group, the University of Minnesota, and Autodesk. The MapServer Foundation has been established to provide a business and operational framework to better support the ongoing development of open web mapping technologies including MapServer, the most widely-used open source web mapping platform. Well, that would mean something IF (a) they'd open source the DWF and DWG formats and (b) they actually made a fscking UI that wasn't from the dark ages. Even QCad on my system inherits this horrid UI. -- kai www.perfectreign.com linux - genuine windows replacement part

It happens that I really like this UI. I would rather type "line" than have to go thru a whole menu of stuff to find it. And the menu is there, if I forget the command. I just read somewhere that the .dwf _is_ now open source, but I don't think the .dwg is. I wouldn't mind paying for AutoCad LT in Linux, particularly if they'e sell me an upgrade. (I have about 4 previous editions.) This software is definitely worth the price. --doug -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
