Suggestions for checkbook program
Currently I have used quicken thru VMWare to sync checkbook data with my palm. Is there a direct linux alternative? As I have looked around, some will export to a .QIF file, some import, all seem to require the two-part of import/export the .QIF file. Also most seem only to go one way (pocketmoney). I see checkbooktracker will both import and export. Is it far enough along to be stable, reliable? Anyone with any experiences here? Richard

I've tried everything "out there," and the best I've found is MoneyDance. There's a full demo (will only record 100 transactions) available for d'l. The purchase price is $29, if I remember correctly. Fred -- Fred A. Miller Systems Administrator Cornell Univ. Press Services fm@cupserv.org, www.cupserv.org
You might want to check out GNUCash. It's so far the best checkbook-type program I've seen out there for Linux. I don't know about ability to sync w/Palm, but you might want to look for yourself. It's more along the lines of a full account management program. It does a LOT of stuff... check it out here: http://gnucash.org/ On Tue, 2003-06-10 at 09:37, Richard wrote:

Quicken should work fine under CrossoverOffice. it is cheper than VMWare. My only concern is how to sync it with the Palm.
