I've tried, repeatedly, to update the "sendmail.....rpm" with no luck. It says installation is complete,however, when I do an "rpm -q sendmail" (as well as look at the status of the rpm in YaST1 Update which reveals an older ("o") version is installed even after installation says otherwise) I am still left with the original installation rpm for sendmail. If you are using a Sendmail RPM that's not from SuSE I would suggest against it. I would either use SuSE's RPM's or build it from src so you can put things where you see fit. You could try rpm -e sendmail and then installing the new one.
