Hello I would like to say first how when installing any linux with pci bios access support enabled the system reboots on me.
Are you using a pentium? Do you have a special chipset? Have you tried changing your bios settings to failsafe? Have you looked to see if there't a bug fix for your bios? Have you tried compiling a kernel on a differant machine and porting it to you machine?
So secondly i would like to say i'm concidering buying a new motherboard i found one for my amd K6 200 MHz by a brand "Gigabyte" I would like to know if this motherboard is compatiable or I would be wasting my money.
I used to have a gigabyte motherboard (486DX266 with PCI bus). I personally feel gigabyte bioses are well supported. I bought another because I couldn't get a bios upgrade to support EIDE (off board, and I didn't want to by a controller card. It would have costed the same as a Pentium 133 and board). I think they're cheap, and I probably won't buy another. <A HREF="http://www.giga-byte.com"><A HREF="http://www.giga-byte.com</A">http://www.giga-byte.com <A HREF="http://www.giga-byte.com.tw"><A HREF="http://www.giga-byte.com.tw</A">http://www.giga-byte.com.tw Jonathan -- =========== =========== Jonathan Paul Cowherd jpcowh01@slug.louisville.edu <A HREF="http://www.slug.louisville.edu/~jpcowh01"><A HREF="http://www.slug.louisville.edu/~jpcowh01</A">http://www.slug.louisville.edu/~jpcowh01 This is my world and I am... You may want to check out AMD's site first. They have a list of "recommended" motherboards. I wound up with a Tyan and a K6-266. So far, so good... - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
