Are you using a pentium? Do you have a special chipset? Have you tr= ied changing your bios settings to failsafe? Have you looked to see if there't a bug fix for your bios? Have you = tried compiling a kernel on a differant machine and porting it to you machine? =20 > So secondly i would like to say i'm concidering buying a new motherboard > i found one for my amd K6 200 MHz by a brand "Gigabyte" > I would like to know if this motherboard is compatiable or I would be=20 > wasting my money. I used to have a gigabyte motherboard (486DX266 with PCI bus). I per= sonally feel gigabyte bioses are well supported. I bought another because I = couldn't get a bios upgrade to support EIDE (off board, and I didn't want to = by a controller card. It would have costed the same as a Pentium 133 and boa= rd). I think they're cheap, and I probably won't buy another. http://www.giga-byte.com> http://www.giga-byte.com.tw> =20 = = Jonathan --=20 =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D = =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D Jonathan Paul Cowherd jpcowh01(a)slug.louisville.edu http://www.slug.louisville.= edu/~jpcowh01> This is my world and I am... They have a list of "recommended" motherboards. I wound up with a Tyan and a K6-266.
