Dear Listees Saw this on a local list I lurk in. Just had to pass it on due to the "when you get lemons, make lemonade" aspect of this companies experiances! This Super Tramp is a British firm that makes trampolines. After a couple of "safe route" choices of MS technology didn't work so well, and faced with a stiff bill from Microsoft's new licensing, they migrated the whole operation (except for one Photoshop-addicted fellow in marketing) to Linux. Life is not only good, now, it's so good they've spun off a consulting firm to help other companies duplicate their success. http://searchenterpriselinux.techtarget.com/originalContent/0,289142,sid39_g... Yes, this is where it's at! You get a company that tried the standard M$ way. Decided to go another road and chose OSS/Linux and made it work. Now, they can not only attest to the virtues but help others find out first hand. This is much like my notion of an IT domino theory. Start with one that gets another and on and on. So, I think this really what is going to happen. Once you reach a minimum critical mass the rest takes care of itself. Great story. Curtis.
