[opensuse] release-to-eol cycle vs uptime.
The entire life cycle of any given version of opensuse is 24 months currently. That sounds ok until: pa2:~ # cat /etc/SuSE-release SUSE LINUX 10.0 (i586) VERSION = 10.0 pa2:~ # uname -a Linux pa2 2.6.13-15.18-bigsmp #1 SMP Tue Oct 2 17:36:20 UTC 2007 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux pa2:~ # uptime 11:45am up 1518 days 11:00, 55 users, load average: 0.74, 0.95, 1.44 pa2:~ # Over 50 months. Over 4 years. That's just since the last _boot_, forget since going into production or since install. -- bkw -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

That is absolutely meaningless, if you didnt reboot the machine, you did not apply kernel security update or other kind of fix that needs a reboot. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
