Doesn't WP8 use Winelib too? And if not, it probably has some proprietary library similar to it - unless you really believe Corel wrote WP8 from scratch for Linux.
I may be wrong but I believe it was ported to UNIX long before winelib existed and was subsequently ported to Linux. WP8 works nice and snappy for me.
WPO2000 is a wine/winelib base program based on a coommon code base and is no longer based on the unix version of wp according to there websight some where.

Which is really a good thing, because if Linux and Windows development can be synchronized, you will see Linux continue to become more viable... yep Tim , its starting to happen , ie corel with wp and there photo product , but there are still those diehards that want that linux native app/port. Just wait till borland comes out with there Kylex/delphi/c++ app , and a few more tool maker jump on board. I think then you will realy start to see a shift. part of the problem is having simmilar tools as is avialable on M$ platform. Theose devolpers realy dont want to relearn and move to unix/linux tools/libs/xfree tools. But give them something compatable and similar to what they have been using and ou will have taken there excuse away from them.

Correct. There's one copy of the source and it links to a library which provides graphics via the Win32 API. Microsoft have provided the Win32 library on Win9x, WinNT and Win2K. The Wine team have provided it on Linux, *BSD, SCO, Solarisx86 and other IA32 based Unixes. Corel have provided it on the Mac. Actually, that last point may suprise a few people. The reason Corel were so confident about the Winelib approach, and were able to supply loads of code and expertise so quickly, is because they have done it before. Corel Draw on Windows and the Mac come from the same codebase. Corel wrote a Win32 library for the Mac, and it works in exactly the same way as Winelib on Linux. Mac users don't seem to complain about "non-native apps" though.
