[opensuse] Kde 'info' pop ups

What are you hovering over exactly? The panel task bar? If so, right click it, Task Manager Settings, show tooltips, uncheck, job done. What are you hovering over exactly? The panel task bar? If so, right click it, Task Manager Settings, show tooltips, uncheck, job done.

-- I guess I should have said 'hover' and not 'pop up'. It's the boxes that appear on most screens, and the ones if you put the cursor over a task bar item. I know there is somewhere to turn these off but it's been so long since I had to do it.

I see now it's the Tool Tips, and supposedly there is no way to turn it off in Kde 4.4.4 but will be an option in Kde 4.5.x. I do not see why they eliminated the ability to turn it off. I see now it's the Tool Tips, and supposedly there is no way to turn it off in Kde 4.4.4 but will be an option in Kde 4.5.x. I do not see why they eliminated the ability to turn it off.
Just tested disabling desktop/panel tooltips in 4.5 and it works - it's the 'Informational Tips' setting in the 'Workspace' config module. I don't know either, I suspect that it got lost in the wash temporarily.
