Suse LDAP gateway backending into Active Directory?
Has anyone had a play with the new LDAP stuff in Suse9.0? I would very much like to build a gateway using the existing corporate information held in Active Directory massaging it and presenting it as vanilla LDAP so my Suse machines can simply switch to it. (from passwd files) Usernames and passwords could be used unchanged. Groups would need to be vetted. Home directories need to be synthesized. ( /home/<group>/<username>/ ) Unix UIDs would be added information, (taken from an existing mapping table or assigned fresh for new users) Etc. Suse 9.0 has a swag of interesting packages: openldap2-back-ldap openldap2-back-perl openldap2-back-meta Can any of these help create such a gateway? michaelj -- Michael James michael.james@csiro.au System Administrator voice: 02 6246 5040 CSIRO Bioinformatics Facility fax: 02 6246 5166
