You can feed the windows .inf file for a monitor directly to YaST2. But you really don't need more data than horizontal and vertical frequencies.

/etc/X11/XF86Config
could provide a clue ---
my monitor file there is:
Section "Monitor" Option "CalcAlgorithm" "CheckDesktopGeometry" DisplaySize 330 240 HorizSync 22-64 Identifier "Monitor[0]" ModelName "1280X1024@60HZ" Option "DPMS" VendorName "--> VESA" VertRefresh 50-60 UseModes "Modes[0]" EndSection

Gar, I understand that part, and I have actually used SaX2 to define the frequencies correctly. What I was hoping that I could do is feed the file through SaX2 so that it will quit telling me that I have an undefined monitor, I keep hearing that I can do that, but my experience is that it doesn't work. So I was asking just to check to see if I was doing something wrong. -- Paul Varner <suse-linux-e@varnerfamily.org>
