Greetings: I was wondering what ftp solution folks are using to provide non anonymous access. I have looked at vsftpd but it does not allow for scripting user access to a specific directory. This is needed. Guess that leave proftpd and wuftpd. My main concern is security. TIA Chris H

What does that mean?

Then you probably don't either of those. Pureftpd is very nice and is in the distibution, proftpd and wuftpd aren't anymore. -- -ckm

BTW: That brings up an interesting question: Why were proftpd and wuftpd removed from the newer SuSE distros? Donavan Pantke

Because they were a security nightmare and we had too many of them. Having three, vsftpd, pureftpd, and the BSD ftpd, should be enough for everyone. -- -ckm
