Hi, Kaffeine in 9.2is quite a surprise after what I saw in 9.1. Most everything I drop on it plays just fine. A real surprise was finding out that some saved HDTV transport streams I recorded on XP via a Hauppauge Win-TV-HD played right off the bat. Can't say about sound as I have not set it up on this PC yet. I thought the Hauppauge *.tp files would be the last thing that would play. *.mpg look good too. I re-discovered some mpg's of the Aussi MetalStorm demos of their awesome 40mm grenade launcher that fires up to 15,000 rounds per minute. Too much!! Any of you have experiances with plugins for other media types? PeterB

Hi Peter Is that the version on the CD ( DVD) or the one from packman? I find the whole of 9.2 quite a disaster . Kaffeine doesn't work. My sound (Intel82801BA-ICH2 is totally screwed up. ( there is sound, but mis formed) Amarok doesn't work as it did before. Kscd still doesn't give me any sound. Openoffice is as slow as when I first start using it about 3 years ago. Scanner doesn't work . My AOC LCD screen gives some letters a bluesh background In fact my whole computer is as slow as anything. I remember Fred had that problem with 9.1). ( there is more I just cannot think of now, but the main thing is most items were working before and I didn't change any HW) I find it difficult to justify the upgrade to 9.2. Sorry, this doesn't answer your question but ... Greetings from /bill at 169 west , 19 south. Disclaimer: Any errors in spelling, tact, or fact are transmission errors."

All in all my 9.2 install in this AMD XP2800 is by far the best overall, ever. I suggest a full install again

Hi, The slightly longer answer is: If you mean DVD Movies, then no SUSE does not ship with the DCSS un-encryption code. For legal reasons you must get that on your own. The much touted "Packman" site has links to the right stuff. www.linux2linux.de is a good place to start the quest. They have wide variety of SUSE RPMs for most recent releases. PeterB
