[SuSE Linux] Help with setup. Paths?
Hi, I've installed SUSE 6 from the ftp site. Everything seems to work fine. Except for a couple of things. First of all quitting YAST I get some error messages basically: /sbin/ldconfig can't find some files from /usr/i486-linuxaout/lib/ Trying to run make config for the new kernel gives me a similar error message but this time it's /usr/i486-linux/bin/ld I've checked the files exist. Any pointers on what to check? Also when do the new CDs ship. Soon? Will they include the new kernel? I've had similar problems. It seems that when uninstalling packages, sometimes symbolic links are left behind (i. e. they point to nowhere). These confuse ldconfig. Check if that's the case and if it is, you can safely delete the obsolete symlinks.
