[SLE] AfterStep configuration files
Folks, Where are the AfterStep configuration files from SuSE v7.0? They are not in /usr/local/share/afterstep as per documentation. Directory doesn't exist. Can't find it on the CDs. (Yes, I must have installed from binary package.) Can't find anything on the system that looks like configuration files. I have have some very strong ideas about how my window manager should behave, and it don't. BTW, 7.0 did not install /usr/X11/bin/xinit. Couldn't find it on the CDs and had to borrow a copy from my 6.3 machine. Many thanks for past and future help. Check /etc/X11 as this is the new location your Afterstep config files might be there also -- Togan Muftuoglu toganm@turk.net 100% MS FREE Absolutely no component of Microsoft was used in the generation or posting of this e-mail. Bob, I don't have 7.0 yet, but did you know that Afterstep 1.8 has altered the configuration files entirely ? steprc has been abolished in favour of a heirarchy of files of other files under different names ? SuSE 6.4 was still on AS v1.0, which is pretty outdated. I d/ld the sources of 1.8 from afterstep.org and had no real problems compiling and installing under my 6.3. There is also a good description of the new configuration format at : http://arshes.dyndns.org/Linux/AS/index.html Sorry of you knew all this already.
