Re: Re: [SLE] Why hasn't floopy image in SUSE 10
It is only because these is not CD writer in my machine. If no way indeed, I have no choice but to install SUSE 9.3. ======= 2005-10-25 10:29:43 in your mail =======

OK, Thanks for your reply. As you say, This floopy boot disk is made in linux. But in my machine, there is no linux environment but only windows. So I still don't know how to make a floopy boot disk in windows environment. Some good advice about it?
Tell you what. Instead of wasting our time, trying to figure out how to save the cost of a few CDs, why not just burn the set. They're what, less than 50 cent each?

Hello David, There is plenty of software out there that will make boot disks for you, have a look at www.bootdisk.com which would be one of your better bets. Regards Per Qvindesland David wrote:

The CD #1 download has the mkbootdsk program. Why can't the OP use that to create the boot floppies? Download CD #1, mount the iso file using loop device, cd to the mount point and run the program. No cdrom required. Then do your network install. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998

Then, why did you previously say?: "If I use CD or DVD to boot, it means I must burn a CD for boot disk. If SUSE can supply disk image, I only need to copy some floopy disk and it is very convenient to me." That makes it sound more like you don't want to burn a CD, rather than can't. All you have to do, is burn the first CD, then you can do a hard disk or network install.
