[SLE] cdrw ( again )
Hi, I have a problem with my IDE Acer 4x4x32 cdrw. I've applied all kernel options as mentioned in CD-Writing-HOWTO.gz, tried it on the SuSE 2.2.13, after that, desperately, also on the 2.2.14, I've tried the append="hdc=ide-scsi" line in lilo.conf, but still nothing; dmesg | grep ^scsi tells me scsi : o hosts and detected nothing, cdrecord -scanbus doesn't find anything either. Any hints? When you do an lsmod, do the ide-scsi, sg and sr modules show up in the
No, lsmod only shows the drivers for my NIC list

Did you disable the IDE CDROM support in the kernel? I believe that if you leave it enabled, it gets in the way of the SCSI emulation. Hi Paul, I also tried it with IDE-CD disabled with the option "Include IDE/ATAPI CDROM support" set to no. The strange thing is that after booting it still finds a "hdc: 4x4x32, atapai cdrom drive". Don't understand where it comes from. Sander
