Hi All, I'd like to have a robust postfix + courier-imap (cyrus ?) + virtual-domain + web admin + Spamassassin + clamav, have googling for quite somethime. I always see that postfix should compiled with mysql, and when i check with postconf -m, i see that postfix comes with suse 9.1 is not compiled with mysql. Should I reinstall postfix from tarball ? I have looked at norrbring.biz that have postfix+mysql for suse, but i'm not sure should I use it or not. Is SuSE 9.2 comes with postfix+mysql compiled ? Why suse not doing this, because i see postfix+mysql is one of requirement to have an easy manage virtual-domain using web interface. Anyone have knows where is good tutorial for this ? thanks -- Arie Reynaldi Zanahar reymanx at gmail.com http://www.reynaldi.com

I recommend you take a look at the very good tutorial by Luc de Louw: http://www.delouw.ch/linux/Postfix-Cyrus-Web-cyradm-HOWTO/html/t1.html For the last two years I have been configuring and maintaining mail server systems based on his recommendations, using Postfix (recompiled from the source distribution with support for MySQL and SASL), Cyrus IMAP, Cyrus SASL, SpamAssassin, ClamAV, amavisd-new and Luc's Web-CyrAdm administration application. It makes a rock-solid mail server, easy to administer and very robust. Regards, -- Andreas Philipp Noema Ltda. Bogotá, D.C. - Colombia

Were you using SuSE when install postfix, cyrys, etc ? Using tar.gz or src.rpm ? I'm trying to install based on this howto too. regards, -- Arie Reynaldi Zanahar reymanx at gmail.com http://www.reynaldi.com

regards,
I did it with postgresql instead of mysql, neither seem to be in the supplied rpm - all I did was download the src rpm and changed the spec file, then rebuild. I cant remember the exact details, but it was quite simple. You need to add CCARGS and AUXLIBS to add support for postgres(or mysql)

I have been using both SuSE 8.2 and 9.1. I have compiled Postfix from the tarball, just as shown in the How-To. Cyrus IMAP and Cyrus SASL I have installed from the SuSE rpm. I believe Luc de Louw has been using SuSE himself, the tutorial is quite detailed and works well on SuSE distributions. Regards, -- Andreas Philipp Noema Ltda. Bogotá, D.C. - Colombia
