[SLE] /etc/modules.conf
Greetings, I have just installed an IDE cd writer on 6.4......I added append="hdc=ide-scsi" to /etc/lilo.conf and ran lilo. Then in /etc/modules.conf, I changed alias scsi_hostadapter off to.. alias scsi_hostadapter ide-scsi. It won't work until I type insmod /lib/modules/2.2.14/scsi/ide-scsi.o from the console. After, all is fine, cdrecord -scanbus detects the device and I can burn cds. My question is .......can I put that line in /etc/modules.conf or is there a better way to load that module at boot time? For those interested I also used this line to link my new cdwriter "cd /dev && rm cdrom && ln -s sr0 cdrom" Dan -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
