The further adventures of DOS and Suse 8.2
It seems the DOS partitions are available only as root not as user. I tried vfat but it did not work. The partitions are visable IFF I login as root in console and manually mount. Manually editing menu.1st made the system menu work for both OS. The install set the extended partition active I reset with fdisk. Also since the install did not recognize the other os no icons for the user but root has them and automounts. Manually created /windows/c/ etc all are root:root 755 What is missing? I tried that and still get errors wherein the system thinks I have fat32 not fat16 and goes into emergency mode instructing me to manually run dosfsck. What is the difference between msdos and vfat?
