Looks like there's at least one more CD now. Beta2's torrent also doesn't work with KTorrent - something about the tracker not sending a "proper response". Is the torrent working for everyone else? -Chris

The torrent seems that doesn't work. Downloading speed from the Novell server is very slow and mirrors doesn't have all the files. We will have to wait a few hours to get it :) Regards, Raúl

Indeed - it's like a Slashdot effect (TM) ;) or something - I'm downloading the delta-iso files at .3kb/sec. From what I can tell (and the note below from Andreas Jaeger), the delta-isos allow for an update, assuming you already have the original SUSE 10.0 ISOs. Delta ISOs allow to download a small file instead of downloading the complete ISO if you have the previous ISO. Just do: $ applydeltaiso old delta new For example: $ applydeltaiso SUSE-10.0-CD-OSS-i386-Beta1-CD1.iso \ SUSE-10.0-CD-OSS-i386-Beta1_Beta2-CD1.delta.iso \ SUSE-10.0-CD-OSS-i386-Beta2-CD1.iso And check the MD5SUMS afterwards. Note since we changed the disk layout for CDs 3 and 4, the size of the deltas was 500 MB each and therefore we did not create these. For further details read the download instructions at: http://www.opensuse.org/index.php/Download_Instructions Andreas Jaeger <aj@suse.de> -Chris
For example:
$ applydeltaiso SUSE-10.0-CD-OSS-i386-Beta1-CD1.iso \ SUSE-10.0-CD-OSS-i386-Beta1_Beta2-CD1.delta.iso \ SUSE-10.0-CD-OSS-i386-Beta2-CD1.iso
And check the MD5SUMS afterwards.
Note since we changed the disk layout for CDs 3 and 4, the size of the deltas was 500 MB each and therefore we did not create these.
For further details read the download instructions at:
Sorry if this is a stupid question but if I understand correctly, you have the original iso and the delta in the same directory, then run this as root in that directory, and you end up with a new updated iso? Graham

Correct.
But do note the other post in which Adrian warned that the deltaiso-s had a problem... -- Shriramana Sharma http://samvit.org (o- Penguin #395953 //\ running on ancient Indian wisdom V_/_ and modern computing efficiency

No need to be root for this - and yes, that's how it works... Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, aj@suse.de, http://www.suse.de/~aj SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126

A little mismanagement on my side, sorry ... Yeah... Andreas (or something else equally knowledgeable), have we got GJC working so OOo is now included? Does that explain the extra CD? -- Shriramana Sharma http://samvit.org (o- Penguin #395953 //\ running on ancient Indian wisdom V_/_ and modern computing efficiency

We have OOo working such that Java is optional and therefore had to add another CD, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, aj@suse.de, http://www.suse.de/~aj SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126

I thought you said OOo couldn't do with Java. So how come "optional"? And maybe now that the delta-s are deleted the file http://ftp.opensuse.org/pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS-beta2/iso/MD5S... should be updated. If new delta-s are introduced, also.
