Installing SuSE 10.0 from Network - 60MB ISO
Hi, I've bought SuSE 9.3 a while ago. Within CD1 or DVD1, on the boot directory, there was a file called 'boot.iso' with just bellow 60MB, that one could burn onto a CD to make any kind of network install. I can't see such a file on SuSE10.0 on the SuSE ftp site... Is it included only on the Retail version? Is it included at all? Thanks. -- Rui Santos http://www.ruisantos.com/ They that would give up essential liberty for temporary safety deserve neither one of them.

I think you can find it on the FTP site, but you could just boot from CD1 and use F3/F4 to setup for a network install. That's what I do. /Per Jessen, Zürich
Hi Per, I know that, but I've downloaded the SuSE10 DVD_Eval and, some of my machines do not have a DVD-ROM. I was hopping i wouldn't have to download an entire CD, just a 60MB ISO but, i suppose that's what i have to do... BTW: I can't find the file on the FTP site (for the 10.0). Thanks for your reply... -- Rui Santos http://www.ruisantos.com/ They that would give up essential liberty for temporary safety deserve neither one of them. Per Jessen wrote:

The isos you seek are linked from http://www.opensuse.org/Released_Version, which is two clicks ("Download SuSE Linux", then in the release table, for "SuSE Linux OSS", version 10.0) from the front page of http://www.opensuse.org/. You'll want either http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS/inst-source/boot/boot...., or http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS/inst-source/boot/boot..... -- Bill
Thanks William, Thats it, no more no less... Thanks. William Gallafent wrote:

You can do a network install from the first install CD. Perhaps they decided they didn't need both.
