Hi, The Unofficial SuSE FAQ has a proposal for a new layout. I have don't done a full conversion yet nor not all the topics are there yet. I thought of placing articles on how things work with SuSE. Before I continue further, I would like to have the list members input as this is for everyone's benefit. I have made the bugs, patches, and fetaure requests and forum at http://sourceforge.net/projects/susefaq publicly available so you do not have to have a Sourceforge account (at least that is what I understand) Of course sending articles is more then welcomed. Please notice that the other format will be developed also, but with no help or very little it will be slower for me to catch up with heavy traffic of the mailling list. Expect to have an update on the old format within next week so if you have things to add this is the time. Also a faq-suse RPM package will be available which will enable to use it via SuSEHelp center, it is now on my system fully searchable :-) Ok to cut it short the new layout is located at (please do NOT mirror the new layout as it is not complete yet) http://dinamizm.ath.cx/articles/index.html http://susefaq.sourceforge.net/articles/index.html Thanks -- Togan Muftuoglu Unofficial SuSE FAQ Maintainer http://dinamizm.ath.cx

Looks pretty good :) The bar on the left is *wide* though (?) In Konq 3.0.1 it remains something like 50% (also when resizing the browser) In Mozilla 0.9.8 it seems to stay at a fixed size, which is just *wide*... Other than that, nice ;) Jon Clausen

Well known bug ( no known cure as yet )

Same with Opera 6.01 and since this side is valid HTML 4.01 http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://susefaq.sourceforge.net/articles/in... I have to find where I do make the mistake :-(
Other than that, nice ;)

I like it better, but the left frame could still be smaller. It uses still a lot of screen estate... If you break it off just after the FAQ it would be perfect. -- Richard

Ok have a look now. I know where the problem is, the logo and if you dig the archieves I have announced my graphics capabilities and basicly begged that some one comes with a logo for the project. Ican probably play with the XSL stylesheets also but that is the last resort as it is sh.ty. In the meantime, while testing the new layout I have noticed Richard that the apt4rpm article you have ( which I have forgotten to put you as the author) is talking about SuSE 7.3. How about a deal I give your credit and you provide a new article :-) Thanks -- Togan Muftuoglu Unofficial SuSE FAQ Maintainer http://dinamizm.ath.cx
OK Already! You guys are killing me with anticipation! I wanna see...I wanna see! How? Tom On Fri, 2002-06-07 at 14:46, Togan Muftuoglu wrote:

Don't mean to make anyone feel bad, but that's a pretty ugly site. The colors are just terrible -- you can't even read the links without squinting and peering hard. Maybe try burgundy in the left nav bar instead of teal. Either that, or do something to make the links readable. And the left nav bar is way too wide, too. Yeah I know, nobody asked me.... sorry, I guess I was expecting something much "neater", No hard feelings intended...
I DIDN'T SAY THAT! DON'T EMAIL ME TO DEATH!!! He just used my name in there!! Please don't hurt me. ;-) On Fri, 2002-06-07 at 16:39, JW wrote:
