-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello all, The C++ cross-platform environment wxWidgets has been compiled in SuSE 9.1 using gtk 2.x. On previous versions as 8.2 or 9.0 it was compiled using gtk 1.x libraries. Some programs using wxGTK are no too happy with the fact of using gtk 2.x. An example is amule, which runs relatively stable when compiled with wxGTK using gtk 1.x and very bad otherwise. It is not possible nor recomended to uninstall SuSE shiped wxGTK and friends and substitute them using RPMS linked with gtk 1.x. It could break many other packages. As I wanted to give a chance to those packages which prefer gtk1, I've build aditional rpms: wxGTK1, wxGTK1-devel, and wxGTK1-gl. They basically are the same that its SuSE Oficial cousins but compiled with gtk 1.x, and installed under /usr/local directory. We can have installed both wxGTK and wxGTK1 packages :). In addition, I've also recompiled amule RPMS using wxGTK1 packages (remember, only for SuSE 9.1). I may also help to any other package prefering GTK1 instead of GTK. You can download them here: ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/misc/suser-gbv/rpms/SuSE_9.1/ ftp://ftp.ploiesti.rdsnet.ro/pub/mirrors/ftp.oxixares.com/rpms/SuSE_9.1/ Any suggestion is welcome :) Guillermo. - -- Guillermo Ballester Valor gbv@oxixares.com Ogijares, Granada SPAIN Linux user #117181.
