I have the same problem with my Canon A70. My problem is the A70 is not fully supported. You camera is still in testing under the gphoto program. Digikam uses the gphoto list. digikam is still in development and sometimes not really stable. Please also try the "gphoto2" commandline frontend. Ciao, Marcus
