[opensuse] ohci_hcd & ehci_hcd with Hi-Speed USB2
Hi all, I have a new USB2 Hi-Speed external HD, but it only transfers about 1 MB/s with my current OpenSUSE 10.3. Some time ago with OpenSUSE 10.2 I also had a speed problem. I think the problem was something about the loading order of ohci_hcd and ehci_hcd at boot or when the device is attached. I can't remember anymore, and clusty.com could not help either. In tail -n30 /var/logs/messages I see (~1MB/s System): usb 1-3: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 3 when it is attached. On the faster system (~25MB/s) it says: usb 1-3: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 2 I see two differences: "full speed" vs. "high speed" and "ohci_hcd" vs. "ehci_hcd" Does someone know the trick to get the fast USB2 transfer going? TIA :-) Al -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
