Hi, I can't use YOU, it fails to load the list of ftp server. The error message is: "socket error: 111". This happens when my computer uses private IP from a broadband router, and the router is connected to a cable modem. -- -- Verdi March --

One thing to add: I also tried BitTorrent (a p2p software). In winXP it works, but in Linux it produces "error connecting to tracker ('111', connection refused)". Since both error on connecting to port 111, it seems that the Linux setting has something wrong. FYI, my computer doesn't use firewall (both on winXP and Linux), and I also disable firewall at the broadband router. -- -- Verdi March --

It's not port 111, it's error number 111, which is "Connection Refused" as BitTorrent tells you. You need to investigate more to determine the reason for it. Can you use ftp at all from that machine?
More info, just checked yast2 logfile, and it indicates error when connecting to this url: http://www.suse.de/cgi-bin/suseservers.cgi? \ product=SuSE%20Linux&version=8.2&basearch=i386& \ arch=i686&business=0&check=0& \ distproduct=SuSE-Linux-FTP-i386-8.2-0& \ yast2-online-update=2.7.10-46&yast2-packagemanager=2.7.37-2& \ liby2util=2.7.16-0 Strange thing is that I'm able to connect to this url via webbrowser and get the list of ftp servers. And here's the log entries: =========== 2003-06-08 12:37:29 <0> nus-cincaipatron(1174) [liby2util] PathInfo.cc(_Log_Result):210 unlink /var/adm/mount/AP_0x00000001/suseservers.cgi?product=SuSE%20Linux&version=8.2&basearch=i386&arch=i686&business=0&check=0&distproduct=SuSE-Linux-FTP-i386-8.2-0&yast2-online-update=2.7.10-46&yast2-packagemanager=2.7.37-2&liby2util=2.7.16-0.new.yast.37456 2003-06-08 12:37:29 <3> nus-cincaipatron(1174) [mediaaccess] MediaCurl.cc(getFile):247 curl error: 7: socket error: 111 =========== -- -- Verdi March --
