WE know you don't have "/boot/grub/menu.lst", and we told you why. At least two people did
But /someone/ (maybe you?) insisted that I did :-/
No. You misunderstood. Not knowing what you had installed, we listed several possibilities At some point when we learn what you really have, we can guess the rest.
Already explained how to do it. What are you waiting for?
Having a martini and answering emails!

2. insert a LILO.conf file that has worked for 10 years.
If you insist...
But then don't come a month or five years ahead complaining of some problem or complication when doing something, like installing openSUSE 20. You have to maintain that yourself... don't expect YaST to handle things that it normally does if you insist on doing unsupported changes.
Look back at the SuSE user group archives and see how many times I've asked about problems with my SuSE 9.1 install.
510 posts listed (Curiously, I even see a bounce from a mail server that stopped a virus (I-Worm.Swen) that was sent to you, and me, and several others, on November 2011 - LOL) You had a problem with booting 8.1 in Dec 2003, when upgrading from 7.2 to 8.1 You also had a problem booting 9.1 on March 2011. :-)) But now you have a hundred problems, many caused by trying to do things in ways that are now obsolete, and asking a hundred questions :-) And, five years ahead, you will have again problems when upgrading to whatever openSUSE has at that time, if you don't keep tracks of how Linux changes, because Linux changes a lot. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. All related to my black-holed email thread. Earthlink's anti-spam procedures are causing false positives, blocking any IP from which any actual spam was ever received regardless that that IP is shared by users unrelated to spammers. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
