Hey Group; REF. SuSE 10 beta 4 - reasonably unaltered. For those that deal with the non GUI programs. As truely "root", I ran SuSEconfig and it is complaining about /etc/texmf/ls-R being formed wrong. After searching the web I found " http://math.ndsu.nodak.edu/resources/tex/bibliography/tetex/tetex.ps " which brought to life a program called "texconfig". I did run "texconfig" and it seems to work properly. However, both SuSEconfig and "texconfig" complain about /etc/texmf/ls-R " No usable entries in /etc/texmf/ls-R ". Does anyone have a clue? I have tried "texconfig", "texhash", " mktexlsr" and "SuSEconfig" - all have the same complaint/error The "/usr/bin/texhash" complains about /usr/bin/texhash: line 94: /dev/null: cannot overwrite existing file /usr/bin/mktexlsr: line 116: /dev/null: cannot overwrite existing file looks like a permission problem which is set by SuSE drwxr-xr-x 8 root root 216 2005-10-15 08:22 ./ drwxr-xr-x 84 root root 7672 2005-10-15 07:27 ../ drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 72 2005-10-15 07:41 dvipdfm/ drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 72 2005-12-10 07:12 dvips/ -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 71 2005-10-15 08:22 ls-R drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 72 2005-12-10 07:18 pdvips/ drwxr-xr-x 10 root root 240 2005-12-10 07:18 tex/ drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 176 2005-12-10 07:12 web2c/ drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 72 2005-12-10 07:12 xdvi/ SuSEconfig runs /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.tetex -- 73 de Donn Washburn Hpage:" http://www.hal-pc.org/~n5xwb " Ham Callsign N5XWB Email: " n5xwb@hal-pc.org " 307 Savoy St. HAMs : " n5xwb@arrl.net " Sugar Land, TX 77478 BMW MOA #: 4146 - Ambassador LL# 1.281.242.3256 " http://counter.li.org " #279316
