Wireless Network and Routing Problem
Hi All, This is a really stupid question and I know that when someone points me in the right direction I'll kick myself.. Here is the senario Adsl Modem connected to Linksys WRT54G Wireless router I have 3 PC's all using Linksys WMP54G Wireless cards I can surf the web and do host, dig etc no problem it the internal LAN I'm having the problem with. PC 1 SuSE 9.2 / Windows XP Duel boot (Only use XP for Photoshop CS) PC 2 Windows XP used for Skype only PC 3 SuSE SLE9 Internal LAN 10.10.0.0 and all PC's have fixed IP addresses. Default Gateway 10.10.0.1 (Linksys Router) is setup on all PC's If I ping from PC 1 (SuSE) to PC 3 I get Destination Host Unreachable I know I have just missed something out. I have to put an entry somewhere to say to use local LAN for any destination on the 10.10.0.0 range. Any help much appreciated. Thanks, Martin P.S. SuSE 10 is on order

Make sure that your firewall settings on the SuSE and SLES boxes allow a
ping.
This routing table should allow you to connect to all hosts in the 10.10.0
subnet. You might also want to double check the linksys settings, but it
should be ok.

Your routing table on all 3 systems should look like this (I'm not sure what the equivalent to netstat is on Windows). Make sure that your firewall settings on the SuSE and SLES boxes allow a ping.

Thanks for that Jerry, At the moment I'm not to bothered about the Windows PC as I'm trying to get rsync and ssh to work on the 2 SuSE PC's, but it seems to be intermitant and very very slow when I do get a connection. I thought it was something to do with the fact that when I ping it takes ages to respond to the ping. I have checked that the firewall accepts ssh and rsync and for testing purposes I have also disabled protect from internal network.. At the moment I have established an ssh from PC 1 to PC 3, but it's really slow.. An example, I started to enter a command via ssh on the remote PC 3 and since then I have replied to another email and also this one. Yip just checked it's still trying to complete the line of commands I entered.. I haven't even gotten to the hit enter stage yet.. Cheers again, Martin

your wireless cards is not working correctly, or possibly the router.
