Ok, I was pretty sure I would have more, so here goes! In KMail, I suddenly have lost my subject headers on the mails? I just get mostly "No Subject" and my filters have suddenly started to do funny things, like not putting mail where it is suppose to go! Do I need to setup my filters and folders again? Eliminate my settings and start over? Thanks as always for the help. end of line Tracer -- ---KMail 1.2--- SuSE Linux v7.2--- Registered Linux User #225206 /tracerb@sprintmail.com/ *Magic Page Products* *Team Amiga* http://home.sprintmail.com/~tracerb

Hi,
My Kmail has started acting strangely. When I click on a mail in the message window, the subject, date and sender disappears , and is replaced by 'No subject'.
I did not have that problem in KDE 2.1.1. Does anyone know what could be causing this?
I use KDE 2.2 with kdebase-2.2.0-5 on SuSE 7.1.
I had this problem when upgrading from 7.1 to 7.2. The solution (if I remember correctly) is to delete the .index files. These are hidden files in the Mail folder, e.g. .inbox.index. ** Please backup the folder before trying ** M
Ok, Thanks everyone for your response & help, this is a great list & OS! I actually solved the problem by updating to v1.3 KMail program! All the bugs disappeared, but I suspect doing the index files would have accomplished the same, as I have done that before on my Amiga. Everything is looking pretty good right now, still some other programs to test out, but KDE2.2 & apps are a nice step up! end of line Tracer ***************************

No you don't. Go into your ~/Mail and remove the .foldername.index file for the folder ( with KMail NOT running while you do it ! ) The index will be rebuilt next time you start kmail. -tosi

If you're going to do a fresh start, the best way would be to: mv ~/.kde .kde.sav and then restart KDE (there may also be a .kde2 directory... I'm not sure which one is really being used) -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ + Bruce S.
