Hi Yes. That happened to me too. The update installed amarok 2.2. I used Yast to downgrade it to 2.1.1 and all was well again. HTH L x -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

How about renaming the amraok file in ~/.kde4/share/apps and launching it again to make a new one (but still using 2.1.1)? L x -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I just installed 4.3.5 and other updates this morning using YaST. I retained my old Amarok (did not allow it to update) My Amarok is: amarok-2.2.1-46.2.x86_64 KDE 4.3.5 openSUSE 11.2 x86_64 All my multimedia files are from Packman. Did you use the packman files as recommended? Not sure if the above will help you. I have 2 system running same 11.2 kde 4.4 one laptop other desktop, I ran into the same problem. On the laptop it worked fine on my desktop would crash with same error above. My amarok works now and I can reproduce the error everytime. Here is what I did on my system: The file ~/.kde4/share/config/amarok_homerc was causing the problem, I had activated a applet called info, I removed the reference to this from that file and amarok started and plays just fine. Before: [Containment 0] firstShowingApplet=3 plugins=wikipedia, videoclip, lyrics, info [Directories] dir_html[$d] dir_locale[$d] prefixes[$d] After (amarok runs fine) [Containment 0] firstShowingApplet=3 plugins=wikipedia, videoclip, lyrics [Directories] dir_html[$d] dir_locale[$d] prefixes[$d] Hope this helps someone Thanks, Tony -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

What version of Amarok is this? Amarok 2.2.90 (2.3beta1), which is in KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop, runs into the following Qt bug in the Info widget: http://bugreports.qt.nokia.com/browse/QTBUG-6932 but i haven't heard of this being a problem in released versions.
