Hi, I'm using SuSE 9.1 and I've downloaded gnome 2.10 from www.gnome.orghttp://www.gnome.organd built gnome from sources and installed them to /opt/gnome. But when i run gnome, my applications are getting screwed up. some of them are crashing. I reported this to gnome guys, but they said its not gnome problem. I've tried this before on redhat and every thing was fine. But SuSE its not the case. Do i need to run some config files before switching to gnome. (or for that matter new kde also). Please help me out. Thanks, Surya
Hi, I hate to say it, but I think that you should probably bite the bullet and download the free version of SuSE 9.3 Pro, which has Gnome 2.10. In my experience this is the _only_ way to get a working gnome without a huge amount of time and hassle. Could be that someone has an easy recipe for installing it for SuSE, but I've yet to see it :) Best wishes, Jon. Surya Kiran Gullapalli wrote:
