AfterStep is missing in SuSE-9.0
What happened with AfterStep in SuSE-9.0? For its simplicity, artistic elegance, and speed, there was a great following to AfterStep although it is not particularly high in terms of the feature set. Now, I cannot find it. in 9.0. Thanks. Hugh

Looks like it has been replaced: Name : WindowMaker Relocations: (not relocateable) Version : 0.80.2.20030506 Vendor: SuSE Linux AG, Nuernberg, Germany Release : 81 Build Date: Tue Sep 23 22:58:25 2003 Install date: (not installed) Build Host: butenandt.suse.de Group : System/GUI/Other Source RPM: WindowMaker-0.80.2.20030506-81.src.rpm Size : 5707516 License: GPL, Other License(s), see package Packager : http://www.suse.de/feedback URL : http://www.windowmaker.org Summary : A colorful and flexible window manager Description : Window Maker is a colorful and flexible window manager and the designated successor of AfterStep. Neither in www.windowmaker.org nor in www.aftterstep.org, I was able to find the above claim (of SuSE(?)) that WindowMaker is a "designated" successor to AfterStep. On the contrary, the AfterStep folks just have released a completely new version Version 2.0 while people in www.windowmaker.org are complaining that their cvs stuff is not compiling and that the official release is so out-dated. What is going on? Probably, you will see why I said AfterStep is much more artistic than any other window managers if you compare www.windowmaker.org with www.afterstep.org. Please SuSE, stop spreading a strange claim that something is a "designated" successor. What is really going on here? Thanks. Hugh
