Re: [opensuse] Is reiserfs dead?
Hi, yep, ReiserFS is quite nice... has been performing well... at least by now :-) ext4 has been announced not long ago... so I guess it'll worth the try instead of failling over to ext3... AFAICS that's disinformation. See http://www.namesys.com/. v3 is not being changed (except for bug fixes; so it is being maintained as such) and v4 is under development, though the developers seem to suggest it is as ready as Linux 2.6. Fairly ready, then I guess.
As far as I understand, reiserfs is fine. The change to ext3 is included now because of expected future changes. The developers want to make sure everything works smoothly before new versions are out and requiring other changes. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org ____________________________________________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? 1. the current ext4 code is minimal different from ext3 2. the code base is meant for _Developers_ not for _users_ do you care about your data? use xfs/ext3/jfs/reiser3. darix -- openSUSE - SUSE Linux is my linux openSUSE is good for you www.opensuse.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
