9.2 and 3COm 3CRWE154G72 Wi-Fi card
Although, according to prism54.org this is the most successful card for use under Linux, I have failed to get it to function. I have installed the firmware available via YOU, and Yast detects it correctly as a network device, but it fails to initialise. Tailing /var/log/messages/ shows that after the firmware is uploaded a reset is issued which seems to fail and the device then fails to respond, with the command buffer filling up. (don't have a copy at the moment as my laptop is elsewhere!) I wondered if the firmware might be incorrect, so installed to card on another (w2k) laptop and then tried to find the .arm firmware. However there are no .arm files on the w2k box. Looking at the .inf file has lines that suggests any .arm file is deleted!! e.g. [NIC_FW.del] 3C154G72.arm Any one got any ideas where to go from here? -- Tim Nicholson http://www.bbc.co.uk/ This e-mail (and any attachments) is confidential and may contain personal views which are not the views of the BBC unless specifically stated.
