[opensuse] Warning - update to tbird 5.0.1 on Arch breaks pop access
Guys, Just a heads up. On Arch, the update to thunderbird-5.0-1-x86_64 breaks pop account access. The pop server does not access the password communication resulting in the following error: Please send PASS command It is repeatedly displayed and no matter whether you enter your password manually or hit 'retry', you will not get access to your pop account. Downgrading to thunderbird-3.1.11-1 fixed the problem. Don't know if it is a generic tbird problem, or just an Arch issue, but I thought I would drop a line to make sure the SuSE packages test this issue before putting the rpms out. -- David C. The packages are already available in the mozilla repo since yesterday. Haven't seen a bugreport about POP access since then. Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Wolfgang, Looks like this is an Arch issue. I updated 11.4 to tbird 5 and still have pop access. Since the downgrade on Arch to 3.1.11 fixed the issue, I'm not sure what to try. I have multiple pop accounts in tbird, so I'm not sure whether it is just an error that happens with multiple accounts or not. When you talk to the 'Moz' devs (if you do), the message compose window in 5 is no improvement over 3x. It looks like the whole left side (where To: From: cc: go) is wasted space now. Also, the hide menubar plugin doesn't work with 5 costing the extra 30 px or so of real estate. Just my initial thoughts. Good news though -- it works on SuSE :) -- David C. I cannot help much with it. I actually cannot believe that TB5 would have shipped with such a bug and w/o knowing if Arch patches anything it's very hard to guess what's going on.

I did complain last week about it ;-) Got a tweet from the dev back: "Mostly because I haven't gotten around to getting rid of them yet. ;) (Patches welcome!)" Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Is anyone else seeing a problem with Reply List option in Tbird 5? Mine refuses to do so for the Suse lists. -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Is anyone else seeing a problem with Reply List option in Tbird 5?
Mine refuses to do so for the Suse lists.
Works for me. Just used it to compose this message. What's happening exactly? Have you tried to disable addons to see it something interferes? Wolfgang -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Clicking Reply list does absolutely noting. I have to Reply All, and trim all but the list. The error console says tempID.email is null in line 112 points to chrome://messenger/content/mailCommands.js Clicking that opens //@line 39 "e:\buildbot\win32_build_50\build\mail\base\content\mailCommands.js" Note: This is on Windows. I am holding off installing on Linux till I'm sure this is fixed, but since you don't have this problem maybe I'll go ahead and upgrade. -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Confirming it does work on Linux. Not in Windows version. I already bug reported it to Mozilla. -- Explain again the part about rm -rf / -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Hmmm -- Good catch John. Something has changed. I just replied to this message and the address for Wolfgang got filled in. I know the suse list used to reply to the suse list w/o having to change the address. I am also experiencing this on 3.1.11 so it isn't just a 5 issue... When I updated to 5, it wiped out nearly all my extensions, so maybe one that got wiped out was the reply to list feature?? -- David C. No, I think Reply to list is a basic feature, not requiring a plugin or extension. Since Wolfgang said it worked for him, I installed on Opensuse 11.4 and it works fine there. Its broke on windows Thunderbird 5.0b2, but works in Linux 5.0 version. -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
